The goal of Reid
Excavating is to have customers love our work so much that they call us
back again and again for future projects. We want to listen and work
with you on solving drainage and erosion problems. We want to help fulfill
your dreams of preparing for a new home or adding new landscaping. We want
to help you with basic upkeep such as driveway resurfacing and brush
removal. We strive to integrate your ideas with our experience in
order to achieve success for both of us.
The Reid family history in construction started in 1945 when my
grandfather, Alex Reid, started one of the biggest independent logging
companies in Alaska. It spanned all of Southeast Alaska and sometimes
employed more than 200 people at a time. My father, Kent Reid, grew up
in the Alaskan logging and construction trade with his four brothers.
I was also raised in the Alaskan logging camps and started running equipment
at the age of 12.
father and I have both spent many days working in the Alaskan rain (up to
120 inches per year). That is one of the reasons we relocated to the
Gig Harbor area in 2005. Together we have over 60 years of combined
experience in the construction industry. Yet the experiences we look
forward to are the future jobs and friendships we will build with our
customers in Gig Harbor and the surrounding areas.
